Sam Egan Gardens is a Melbourne-based landscape design, construction and maintenance company specialising in the creation of elegant and functional outdoor spaces.
We love the diversity garden design offers — the synthesis of creativity, raw materials, plants and functionality. Understanding what is important to each client and delivering an outcome that exceeds expectations.
Founder Sam Egan has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Horticulture) from Melbourne University and has been designing and building unique gardens since 2003. He is personally involved in the design and implementation of every project.
APPROACH
We believe that landscape is equally as important as the architecture of a house and there should be a seamless relationship between the two.
Our approach centers on integrating landscape elements with architectural features to create cohesive designs. Through careful selection of plantings, strategic placement of hardscape elements, and consideration of sightlines, we ensure that every aspect of the landscape complements the property's aesthetics.
Our goal is to create outdoor spaces that not only enhance visual appeal but also improve functionality, livability, and overall harmony, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living.

Sam Egan
Director
Sam completed his Degree in Horticulture at Burnley in 2003 and began this business in 2007. A lover of the AFL, Sam enjoys supporting the mighty magpies – please don’t hold this against him though! When not at work you can find Sam at any of his 2 children’s sporting activities or sneaking a coffee at various cafes, between site meetings of course.
Kirsten Egan
Office & Accounts Manager
Kirsten also completed a degree in Horticulture and has a shared love of plants with the rest of us. Kirsten efficiently manages our office and accounts. Having grown up on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, Kirsten loves returning as often as possible to enjoy its beaches and coastal landscape.
Frank Cannata
Maintenance Manager
A die-hard Melbourne supporter, Frank will regularly be found at the ‘G with his daughter cheering on his beloved Dees. Frank’s infectious humour is always on display with our clients and staff and he loves meeting new people and discussing their gardens. Frank is extremely knowledgeable, having worked in Horticulture for the majority of his career, so feel free to try and stump him with any plant questions!
Roger Sullivan
Team Leader
Roger grew up in Northern Queensland and was quite the accomplished sportsman, particularly excelling at Rugby League. A gentleman through and through, Roger is a diligent and very experienced horticulturist who has been with us for over 12 years now.
Josh Tiddy
Team Leader
Josh is a natural in the garden, able to turn his skills to not only horticultural maintenance but also garden lighting, irrigation and in particular, turf management. While not at work, Josh is a dedicated uncle to his niece and nephew, regularly spending his weekends with them.
Georgia Lewis
Team Leader
Hailing from Brighton, England, Georgia has decided to settle in Melbourne for a time and we are grateful to have her. Excellent plant knowledge and very approachable by nature, Georgia is one of our team leaders. Georgia grew up learning about gardens from her father, a landscaper, but is also quite a talented singer having completed her university studies in the UK.
Jusung Lee
Gardener
All the way from South Korea, Jusung has settled in well with our family at Sam Egan Gardens. Jusung enjoys his soccer and shares, along with Sam, a keen interest in military reproduction clothing, particularly the Japanese brands.
Ben Harrington
Gardener
An avid basketball and AFL fan, Ben loves his sports and keeping in shape with regular fitness training. Ben’s gregarious nature puts everyone at ease but don’t let it fool you – Ben has a very keen eye for detail and is very committed to providing our clients excellent service.
